Event Theme: "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made"

San Diego, California, July 9 - 12, 2026 - The 29th Annual MOMUSA Summer Ministry Games (SMG2K26) was a powerful celebration of faith, fellowship, and sports ministry. Nearly three decades ago, this event began with a vision to unite our Micronesian communities through athletics—a ministry where lives are encouraged, relationships are built and strengthened, and, above all, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully proclaimed.

 

This year’s theme, “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made,” reminded every participant that our identity, value, and purpose are found in God alone. Through worship, biblical messages, fellowship, and friendly competition, we were reminded that each person is uniquely created by God, designed with purpose, and given a hope-filled future in Christ.

 

SMG2K26 brought together teams, families, churches, and communities from across the United States and the Pacific. We were especially blessed to welcome many new teams, making this one of the largest gatherings in the history of the Summer Ministry Games. Throughout the tournament, the spirit of unity, respect, and sportsmanship reflected the heart of this ministry—building bridges between communities, strengthening lifelong friendships, and pointing the next generation to Jesus Christ.

 

Each day centered on a biblical message that reinforced our theme:

 

• Thursday: Masterpiece of God (Ephesians 2:10) — We were reminded that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works and for His divine purpose.

• Friday: Understanding Your God-Given Worth — Participants were encouraged to see their value through God’s eyes rather than the ever-changing standards of the world.

• Saturday: Identity Beyond Social Media — We were encouraged to find our true identity in Christ rather than seeking acceptance through popularity, recognition, or the opinions of others.

• Sunday: Hope and a Future for You (Jeremiah 29:11) — Our youth and communities were challenged to trust God’s plans and remain faithful to His calling.

 

Beyond the competition, SMG2K26 was a beautiful testimony of teamwork, sacrifice, and servant leadership. Countless volunteers faithfully served behind the scenes—preparing meals, coordinating logistics, officiating games, setting up facilities, providing hospitality, and caring for every participant. Our deepest gratitude goes to our cooks, service coordinators, churches, community leaders, sponsors, donors, officials, volunteers, and every supporter whose generosity, prayers, and dedication made this ministry possible.

 

While only a few teams could claim championship titles on the court, every team that participated contributed to the success of this event. We congratulate all of our athletes for competing with determination, integrity, and sportsmanship. In God’s eyes, your willingness to represent your communities and be part of this ministry makes you all champions.
